Time to Say Good Bye to This Amazing Book

Summary of this week´s chapters

We got to the end of the book! I can´t believe it. On this last chapters I learned about finding your inner strength.The first story was about a girl who got to be lonely and that was awfull. Her friends started to talk bad about her behind her back and then her boyfriend dropped her and later he was with one of her friends. She didn´t understand what she had done but later she understood that she was better alone. The other story was about a girl who was from Africa and all the other girls bothered her becuase she was like pretending to be an american girl. She later started to realize what true happiness is and she discovered her true happiness when she found god. This stories were the last stories that showed me a message.

This is a really good quote because it can help teenage girls that feel very bad. This quote might get them strenght to get up again and be better. It is true because we are stronger than we think and we are capable of lots of things we think we can't.

"I've found happiness is not something that is easily gained" (Simmons 194).

I agree with this quote because through my life I have known that happiness is not easy. Sometimes you believe you are happy when you really aren't. I also think that to achieve happiness you have to get help from someone so it is not so difficult. For example, I would find happiness with some of my friends and they also make me really happy so I think that if it wasa like that, happiness would not be so difficult to find.

Final Thoughts

This book was really awesome! I learned a lot of things about teenage lifes like advices, their feelings, why thei react the way they react etc. This was a very good author I think she knew exactly what she was talking about. She really gave me lots of good advices and i[m happy I read this book. I really liked the fact that I didn't felt this book was a book that I had to read because I had to, I really enjoyed reading this book and each week I was super excited to keep reading it!

Getting More Deep Thoughts

Summary of this week's chapters

On this week's reading I learned and read about when girls want to fit into society (the popular group). The first story was about a girl that didn't fit on her school cliques. She was once invited to a dance and she thought this was very rare. When she entered the party, a girl started to insult her and she felt so bad she started crying and called her mom to pick her up. The next day a girl told her to like kill herself, at the beginning she thought she was kidding so she laughed but then she realized she was not kidding and she burst in tears. She later started to feel really insecure about herself making her get really sick. At the end, she did found true friends and now she is good and is so grateful for her friends. The other story was about an Asian girl. She first got really hated for a girl called Karen but then she solved things with Karen. Later she found a group of friends she spent over summer and they really liked her until they got to class again and ignored her and threw her out of her group. She considered again suicide until she also made the bully feel bad and then she realized that it was not ok. She then changed from school and was happy again.
Hypocrite people just make me feel like....

Important quotes

"And I will never try to become another person again" (Simmons 175).

This quote is important because it shows a super important message. It teaches us that after a big struggle like the ones these girls are going through, they learned that they should always be their selves. But this shouldn't be just applied after something like this. This should be a lesson you should always apply and this is a message a lot of teenage girls need. 

"I am awed by their courageous self-respect in the face of seemingly endless sorrow" (Simmons 160).

I really like a lot how this author talks about this girls. The author acknowledges her courageous and I really like that. I think it doesn't only makes the author of the stories feel good, but it also makes the one reading feel good. 

Final Thoughts

I think these chapters were the chapters more intense from the book. In this section you could really get to see things like suicide and that is not a very slight thing. This section of the book also was the one that made me think the most about bullying. I also think we got deeper in the feelings of these authors. There is only one section more left on the book, I hope is really great!

Wow! How Can People Survive This

Summary of this week's chapters

These chapters were about how girls survive over bullying and all that stuff. A story was about a girl that gets excluded from her group and her friends like pretend like if she didn't exist like they supposedly wrote all the group names except for hers. Other story was about this girl that felt insecure about herself and started to pick on a girl called Jodie and she started bullying her by telling her mean things and making her feel bad just because she was insecure about herself. Another story was about this girl who had a best friend but her best friend left the country and they made official groups of girls, she joined the popular girls and years later her friend came back but she realized her friend did not wanted to be with her because everyone thought she was annoying and it was like a bad reputation. With this and more stories I learned and made connections to stories about teenage girl life.

When I was reading this book I started to think a lot about this quote. I think this type of witting the author uses is very good since it gives example and it starts to see the world like we see. I really like how the author understands how girls feel. I also think is very good how the author knows how to write a book to a specific audience.

"Hurt me once, shame on you; hurt me twice, shame on me"(Simmons 138).

This quote sounds very deep. It is a quote that was being said by the mom of this girl. I think this quote is truth because when you let a person hurt you twice is really dumb. 

Final Thoughts

I really like this book I make so many connections and in a way I can see solution o my problems and future problems. I like how the author is super good explaining the chapter and showing you. It makes me really see the person's point of view and in a way feel what they feel. One thing I also want to mention because I think is super important is how the author writes for a specific audience. I really like this because you get to think a lot deeper and make more connections.

Unbelievable but Brave Stories

Summary of this weeks' chapters

On this week´s reading I read new stories and learned new lessons. This weeks' chapters were about when friends turn on you. The first story I read was about this girl that was dropped by their friends all of the sudden. This happened over the summer so when she came to her first day of school everyone bothered her of a mistake she made with boys over the summer. She got bullied and got depression but she told her parents and the social worker of her school and she went to do homeschooling and felt good. Another story I read was about this girl who also lost her friends all of the sudden because she always made her best to make her friends feel good. She was diagnosed for depression and started to lose weight. She was so bad she couldn´t even swim one lap in a pool. She started to see a therapist and she changed from school and then she started to gain weight again and feel good again. Through this and more stories I learned about experiences of friends turning over you and how it feels. I also learned how much damage this can make.

I think this quote is very beautiful and true. I think this is something that comes with time and time is something super important when you face this things. I will share this quote with my friends. I think this is something we should know because is one message of the book that will help you on your life.
"Maybe someday I'll find a girl who I can trust, but I found out that girls at this age are mean, malicious, and liars" (Simmons 98).
I somehow think the same way as the author but I also kind of disagree. I think the same way because there are mean girls that are a lot like that characteristics but there are girls are not. I think this girl can find someone that will make her feel good again. I think girls are very negative and think they will be sad forever and I think the author wants to show us this.

Final thoughts

I am really hooked to this book since I can relate and make connections a lot. I get to see a lot about girl feelings and that also teaches me how to treat girls that have gone through this. This book also shows me how to act if something like this happens to me. I really like this author and her way of writing books.

New Book, New Learnings

Sumary of this week´s chapters

This new book is about real life teenage girl problems told by themselves. This week I read about girls that no longer want to be friends with one girl. The first case was a girl who didn't want to be friends with another girl called Maya because she was mean to her. The girl stopped being friends with Maya and then was happy, but Maya wasn't so she changed of school. The other example was when there was this girl named Mara and she copied her friends so they liked her. Her friends got so tired of her copying them so they got her out of their group. At first they thought it was a relief but later they realized they needed someone to copy them and they missed her but they already lost her. Another story was when this girl had a dylsexia problem and their friends were very popular. At the beggining they didn't mind but later everyone knew that this girl had dyslexia so they thought that ruin their reputation so they stopped being frineds with her. There are a lot of stories like this on my book told by many different teenage girls from different ages. At the end the author tells the reader like a lesson and how to act towards this problems.

I think this is one important lesson the author is trying to teach us. I also agreee that this is true and I like how Rachel Simmons shows us this message through this stories. I also think this quote supports all this week's chapters have been about.
"Girls get quiet because they're afraid to say what they really think" (Simmons 48).
I think this is a great advice the author is giving us. As I said before, the author always gives us like a lesson and this really makes u think deeply about each topic. I agree with this because I can make connections to lots of my friends that are act this way.

Final thoughts

I really enjoyed this book since it is teenage real life problems. I can make connections to some of the feelings and problems this girls have. I really like to hear this stories and see how they act towards their problems. I am super excited to keep reading the book. I hope the book keeps being as good as it is right now.

Another Character Comes to the Story

Summary of this week's chapters

This are the last chapters of our amazing book! At first, Annabeth, Grover, and Clarisse got to the ship and Tyson and Percy were holding Polyphemus back. Clarisse insulted Polyphemus so he sank the ship. Tyson called over Rainbow (the hippocampus) and his friend so they took Percy and his team out of Polyphemus Island. The hippocampus only could go a little bit near Miami Beach. They thanked the hippocampus and swimmed to shore. The checked the newspaper and they were 10 days away from camp so they thought Thalia's trees was almost dying. They had to go fast so they paid Clarisse an airplane ticket back to camp so she would get faster and save the tree. After they send Clarisse in a plane, they turned around and found Luke again. Luke's guards got Percy and his team to Princess Andromeda. Luke asked for the fleece but obviously they didn't have it. He found out Clarisse had it and was already handing it to camp so he was planning to go to the Miami airport. Percy made an iris message to make everyone at camp see that Luke was the one who poisoned Thalia's tree and that he was going to heal Kronos. This made Dionysus fire Tantalus and make Chiron return. Luke fought against Percy and he almost defeated Percy until Chiron and other centaurs came and took Percy and his team out of Princess Andromeda and back to camp. Chiron talked to Percy about his prophecy. He said that he wasn't sure that he was the one of the prophecy but if he was that he should be prepared to fight and maybe defeat Kronos. Chiron also admitted that he is Kronos' son. When they arrived at camp, they heard the fleece was working well on the tree but that it needed some time until it was fully okay. There was guardians who patrolled the tree. Clarisse was thanked a lot since it was her quest and Percy and the other ones not much but they didn't cared much. Percy saw Hermes and he said that he couldn't make Luke realize he was bad but Hermes said it was okay and he just tried to tell Percy how much the gods love their childrens. Percy received a letter of Poseidon saying "Brace yourself." They had a chariot race but Tyson didn't participate on this one. He told Percy he asked Poseidon for a friend which was Percy they had a nice moment together before the race started. Percy and Annabeth won the chariot race. Grover was staying all summer and was later going again for his quest to search Pan. Percy was not guilty of any damage he made the school at the start but he was still expelled. Percy's mom called, she first was angry with Percy for escaping out of camp but then she was glad he was safe and okay. She said they would find another school for him next year. Then, Percy talked to Tyson and he said that Poseidon had got him an internship to work with Cyclops on his underwater palace. On the night, Percy still had those dreams about Kronos and he also had a dream about Polyphemus sitting on his cave. Grover woke Percy up and said something about Annabeth that was lying there on Thalia's tree. Everyone went to the hill were Thalia's tree was and they were shocked and cursed Kronos because he tricked them again. The fleece was so powerful it just didn't healed the tree. On the tree there was a girl with Greek armor and Percy got near her. She was lying beside Annabeth. Percy told everyone to go and get some nectar and ambrosia which would heal her but everyone stood there shocked. The girl waked up feeling really bad like if she was dying. Percy told her everything was okay and asked her her name. She said "I'm Thalia, daughter of Zeus.'" (Page 279). Everyone was shocked. Then Percy realized it was a trick from Kronos, he brought Thalia back and changed the prophecy.

Important quotes

"Families are messy. Immortal Families are eternally messy. Sometimes the best we can do is to remind each other that we're related, for better or worse..." (Page 258). 
I agree with what the author say here. I think in some way he is trying to teach us that families may not be the best but we have to be there always for each other. I think this is a really nice quote. This made me reflect a lot of what families are for. It also made me realize how big and important families support is. 
"I'll admit, I felt a little jealous." (Page 273)
I kind of feel good about Tyson but a little bad for Percy. I feel good for Tyson because this is a big and great opportunity. I feel a little bad for Percy because Poseidon has never given Percy something like that. The good thing is Percy also feels very good for Tyson and proud.

Final Thoughts  

I really enjoyed this book a lot. I learned a lot from this book. Most of all I learned about the importance of family and friends. I really like Percy's adventures. I do recommend this book to other people who like adventures like me. I got really hooked to the book.

They Finally Arrived

Summary of this week's chapters

This chapters were full of excitement. At the beginning, Annabeth tells Percy about a prophecy were a half-blood child of The Big Three (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades) will only live until the age of 16 and then he would become a dangerous weapon. Percy and Annabeth arrive at a spa called "C.C Spa & Resort" When they get there, C.C wants Annabeth to go with someone to help her far away from Percy as possible. C.C stays with Percy and talks about this makeover she could make him to look wonderful. She says there is only one condition, he needed to drink a special drink. Percy wanted to have that makeover so he drinked it. But, instead of becoming this perfect Percy, he became a hamster! Annabeth returned and saw Percy as a hamster, she made C.C turn Percy into human again and then they went out of there. They found a vessel called Queen Anne's Revenge and they used it to go to the island. Percy got some sleep but he didn't dream about Grover. He dreamed of voices saying you can't beat me and it was apparently Kronos. Annabeth wanted to hear the sirens because they said that they sing the truth about what you desire and if you survived them you become wiser so he told Percy to don't let her get out of the ship. Percy was didn't heard the sirens although he wanted and Annabeth almost fell but Percy saved her. After that, they had reached Polyphemus home. When they arrived, the place looked beautiful because of the Fleece. They saw the fleece on top of a tree so they thought it would be very easy to go get it but there were piranhas guarding the tree. They found Polyphemus with Grover and then they found Clarisse. She said the truth about Grover that he was a satyr and then Polyphemus didn't want to marry him anymore and he wanted to eat Grover and marry Clarisse. The sunset was coming and Polyphemus was getting ready to eat Grover and marry Clarisse until Annabeth tricked Polyphemus with the "nobody trick" that Odysseus used when he confronted Polyphemus. Percy went to rescue Grover and Clarisse and with hope to find Tyson but Clarisse said that when the ship blowed up, she was the only one to get out. Annabeth was invisible but Polyphemus trapped her and dropped her very bad so she got much hit. By that time Percy, Clarisse and Grover where there and attacked Polyphemus together and got ready to go in the ship and return. Grover was carrying Annabeth and was taking her to the ship so Percy and Clarisse tried to ran after them. Polyphemus was right after them. Percy got a knife and cut the ropes of the bridge they were going through and he also stabbed Polyphemus with the knife, he was very injured. Percy felt bad for the Cyclops so he didn't kill him and he asked for the fleece and he said yes but he was just fooling with Percy. Then someone hitted Polyphemus with a rock.... it was Tyson! Tyson get them the fleece and used it on Annabeth for a while because she was really hurt. She couldn't stand and as they were going to Queen Anne's Revenge, they had to swim for a little part so Annabeth had to make an effort and swim.

"Bad Polyphemus, Tyson said. Not all Cyclopes as nice as we look.'' (Page 220)
I really like the kind of message the author is giving. I think like in some way it means that sometimes we might look good but we can make things really bad. I also liked how Tyson was alive and was there for his friends.
"Clarisse picked up Annabeth like a sack of flour and lugged her down the beach" (Page 223)
I liked this part of the book because it shows how Clarisse is good with them although before she hated them. I think in some way she was thankful and was in a team feeling. Even if she carried Annabeth like a sack of flour, she still helped.

Final thoughts

We almost get to the end of the book! I think our main problem is already solved so I will like to know what happens next. I predict they will get someone to heal them. I hope they get to camp fast so they can give the fleece and be healed. I also predict that they will be very honored for going and rescuing the fleece. I hope we have a good end.

A Rescue That Ends Bad

Summary of this week´s chapter

In this week´s chapters the adventure continues. In the beginnig, Percy and his team (Annabeth and Tyson) try to scape but as they scape they see one half-blood and they found out Luke was talking about Chiron and a prophecy. Tyson can make the exact same voice since he is a Cyclops, so he copies Luke. Luke finds Percy and his team and talks to them. Luke accepts that he poisoned Thalia's tree. He also reveals he has a team and that they are going to reform Kronos and he tries to persuade Percy and Annabeth to join his side. Percy's team escapes from Princess Andromeda and go to a life boat. On the life boat they contacted Chiron through iris message and he said something about Miami. Then, the life boat hit Virginia and Percy knew the exact coordinates since he gets knowledge in the sea for being the son of the sea god. They arrived at a bay and when to one of many half-blood hideout Annabeth, Thalia and Luke made when they escaped from the monsters wanting to go back to Camp Half-blood. Annabeth told Percy about Thalia and that she died when they escaped from the monsters to return to camp because of a Cyclops and that's why Annabeth didn't much liked Tyson. Annabeth send Tyson to buy donuts and he bought them at a place called "Monster Doughnuts". Annabeth knew that this monster doughnuts were places were monsters lived. A Hydra came to their place because of the doughnuts. They defeated the Hydra by exploding it with a canyon ball thrown by Clarisse who picked Percy and his team on her ship. When they got to the ship Clarisse said Dionysus and Tantalus expelled them from camp. She said she didn't want to be part of a team with Percy so they were like guests. Percy had another dream about Grover where he asks Polyphemus where the Golden Fleece is but he doesn't tell him and Polyphems says Grover needs to finish his weeding training tomorow. On the morning, Percy eavesdrops the conversation of Clarisse and his father Ares. Ares sounded very strict and mad. Later, they got to the part in The Sea of Monsters where there is Charybdis and her sister Scylla. Charybdis sucks up the sea and Scylla starts plucking sailors of the ship. They had problems in the engine so Tyson goes and solves it because he is a Cyclops and can support the heat. Charybdis sucked them up but nothing really bad happen and then Scylla throwed them from her cliff and before they landed the ship exploded. Everything blowed up and Percy didn't know what happened to Tyson since he was on the engine room.

I like the persuasive writing the author is using right now because it's really appealing. He is using things important and that struggle a lot on Percy and Annabeth's life. I really like how he also says what great future they will have if they join his side.
"When you're at sea you have perfect bearings. That is so cool."
I also think is really cool how Percy has perfect knowledge on the sea. I also like how the author makes everything make sense like this. I also think is nice how Annabeth complimented that advantage

Final Thoughts

I think this book is having a good plot with all this adventures. I think this part is kind of the middle of the story where we are almost close to the biggest story. I predict they will be tomorow with Grover and rescue him. I also predict maybe Luke will also be there to get the Fleece. I am super excited to continue reading the book.

An Opportunity Is Being Presented

Summary of this week's chapter

In this week's chapters a lot of exciting things happened. First, Percy started to feel embarrassed that Tyson was his half-brother and he kind of wanted to deny it and felt mad with Poseidon. Then, Tantalus organized a chariot race and Annabeth was first teamed up with Percy but then they got into a fight and they ended up doing the chariot on different teams, Percy and Tyson and Annabeth and some of the people from her cabin. While Percy was lonely, because of the fight he had with Annabeth, he started to remember all of the memories he had about Luke and how he almost killed him and leaving him a scar. Percy had another dream about Grover where he could communicate with Grover and he is wearing a wedding dress and he looks like he is going to get married but he is telling the groom that he needs more days. Then he tells Percy he is on an island with a Cyclops called Polyphemus and to please rescue him. Polyphemus thinks Grover is a lady Cyclops. Grover got there when he was searching for Pan but it was all a trap and it leads to this cave with this Cyclops and that's why no Satyr comes back. He tells Percy that this island is located on The Sea of Monsters but Percy doesn't know where that is. He also tells him that they are like connected so if he dies, Percy also dies. Percy tells Annabeth about the dream about Grover. She tells Percy that it's impossible that that will happen so they will talk later since the chariot race was going to start. The Chariot race started but then bronze and evil pigeons attacked and they were very dangerous. They played a song and all the pigeons died. Tantalus punished Annabeth, Tyson and Percy for the pigeons and made them dish cleaners. Annabeth tells Percy about the Golden Fleece which can heal Thalia's tree and make camp go back to normal. They said it's on The Sea of Monsters where Grover was, that was located on the Bermuda's triangle. They asked Tantalus if they could go in a quest to find the Golden Fleece and he accepts but he sends Clarisse instead of Percy, Annabeth and Tyson. On the night, Percy meets Hermes and he tells him about the quest but he tells Percy to go and he gives him a bag full of things that will help Percy and a ship called Princess Andromeda to go on his quest. Hermes also mentions he also wants Luke to go back to being good and that if they see Luke to make him capacitate and go back to the Olympian's side. Percy, Annabeth and Tyson go on the quest and go in Princess Andromeda but to get there they had to ride hippocampus that were animals from the water that Tyson called Rainbow. They slept there and Percy had another dream but first it started with voices from Tartarus and telling mean things to Percy and then Grover trying to delay the wedding day and telling Percy to hurry up! The next day Annabeth realizes all the people from the ship is on a sort of trance and that Luke is also aboard on the ship. They need to get out!

"Good-bye Percy. There is a new Golden Age coming. You won't be part of it." (Page 70)
I infer that this quote means that Kronos is going to take over the Olympus and that this new age is coming. It kind of tells Percy like they have a plan so be prepared fora huge thing. I also think it means if Percy continues to support the Olympian's he is not going to end well and that this Golden Age is going to rule and he is not going to be on it.
"Oh   my gods, Percy! You are so hopeless." (Page 86) 
In this part I got really confused on the feelings of both. I thought Percy wanted to go on the quest to save Grover and get the Golden Fleece, but here he is so negative. Also Annabeth at first didn't want to go on the quest so i think they changed like positions. 

Final thoughts 

I am very hooked to the book right now since it's starting the rising action. I predict they will have problems with Luke when he finds him. I also predict Clarisse will be somewhere near the fleece. I think this has been so far the best things that have happened. I really want to know what is going to happen when Luke will find Percy and his team.

In A Year, Plenty Of Things Change

Summary of this week´s chapters

This new book called: The Sea of Monsters is a really incredible book. It starts when the half-blood Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, has a dream about Grover, his best friend who is a satyr, that something is chasing Grover. Percy starts a good year so far until the last day of school when he destroys the school while playing dodge ball with monsters. This year, he meets a new friend called Tyson. When they almost beat the monster, Annabeth, friend of Percy and daughter of Athena, talks to Percy and they go immediately to camp in a taxi driven by the Gray Sisters who were really intelligent and knew what location Percy was seeking but Percy didn't knew what they were talking about. They just said 30, 31, 75, and 12. When they arrived at camp, the camp was being attacked by two huge bronze bulls. They defeated the bulls and discovered Tyson was a Cyclops! Chiron, the activity director, was being replaced for Tantalus who was a monster from the fields of punishment. They also found out Thalia's tree, Thalia was the daughter of Zeus who gave her life to protect the camp and became a pine tree, was being poisoned by something really dangerous from Tartarus. At the end of the chapter, all people at camp have dinner and then Poseidon claims Tyson as his son!    

Important quotes

"Yes, trouble, Tantalus said with satisfaction. You caused plenty of it last summer, I understand." (Page58). This quote made me think how much Tantalus didn't like Percy. He tries to make Percy look like all he does is trouble and he makes fun of it. Tantalus didn't start well with Percy but it was much of his fault since he didn't respect him and didn't gave him a good welcome.
"Chiron, what's happening? You're not.... leaving? Her voice was shaky. Chiron was like a second father to her." (Page 51)
I think the author is trying to make people see how strong Annabeth and Chiron's relationship was. He is trying to show how hard is Chiron's leaving for both. I also think he is trying to make people see the impact Chiron has made over Annabeth.

Final thoughts

I want to keep reading the book because it's very interesting. I think maybe Percy will go on a quest like the last book. I also predict maybe Percy will try to make camp a good and fun place for Chiron since he now is his half-brother. I want to know what is going to happen to Thalia's tree!

Summary of this week's chapters...

We finally got to the end of the book Two Truths and a Lie! On the beginning, Emma went to the dinner before the secret party on Charlotte's house. Ethan told Emma if she could pick him up so she went and as she said goodbye Emma said she didn't want to do the prank to Ethan. When Emma arrived with Ethan to the party she realizes there was nobody on the party, so the door was opened and they went scared inside the house. Then, Emma realized it was all a prank from Sutton's friends and there was where everyone found out Emma and Ethan were together and the party started! Emma went to talk on the phone with the detective Quinlan from the Thayer case. Quinlan told Emma that Thayer was released from jail hours before the party. Emma went too far from the party that she couldn't go back and then she heard a voice that said Sutton... At the same time, Sutton had a flashback to the rest of the story at the Canyon. Somebody followed them and took Sutton's car and wanted to hurt Sutton but Thayer throw himself over the car and got hit and that is why there was Thayer's blood on Sutton's car. They called Laurel to take just Thayer to the hospital and Sutton was hiding on the bushes. Laurel was the one that called on Sutton and then she told Emma that she saw Sutton hiding on the bushes the night Thayer got hit and that she paid the bail to get Thayer out of jail! But what is still a mystery is who was driving the car that hit Thayer. The next day, Emma goes to a supermarket where she meets Thayer and they talked about the notes and emails that Emma didn't respond and the true reason why Thayer was in that metal hospital... It was because of his alcohol problems and he keeps asking Emma why she is acting weird but she can't tell Thayer about her true identity. Ethan went to Sutton's house the next day to meet Emma and when they were together, Thayer came and as he came towards Emma, Ethan disappeared. Thayer talked to Emma a little while but the reason he came was because of Laurel and Laurel saw Emma and Thayer talking and she got really mad... That is how this amazing story ended.

Important quotes....

"I told them about us at breakfast." (284) This quote made me really understand how much Emma loved Ethan to tell their parents. I really think that Emma and Ethan will do anything to be together. "And then, as if one cue, the door swung open, and a bunch of kids spilled inside." (256) I made a connection with the book because they made a surprise party to Ethan and Emma and I remember when I also had a surprise party for a friend. We all hide and when my friend came we all said surprise and then had like a little party.

Final thoughts....

We finally got to the end of the book! This book has been really good, I think it's one of my favorites. I really really liked how the author used a lot of suspense because I was really into the book. I can't believe we still don't know who Sutton's killer is. I really want to know who Sutton's killer is so I guess I will have to read the next book!

Almost Resolving the Mystery

Summary of this week's chapters....

This chapters are awesome since we are almost getting to the end and a lot of answers were presented. On the first chapter Sutton gets a flashback were Thayer hurts Sutton the same day they went to the Canyon and Sutton dies and when Sutton escapes and gets to her car, Thayer reaches her and then everything blacks out and she can't remember anything about it. Later, Emma goes to Ethan's house to tell him about her visit to see Thayer in Jail. She finally decides to tell Ethan about the prank Sutton's friends were going to do and Ethan gets mad at Emma for not stopping the prank. Emma receives a call from the police station saying that the blood they found on Sutton's car (from the night she was murdered) is from Thayer! Can you believe it! On the night, Emma couldn't sleep because she felt really bad and was crying so she went to drink water and she found Mrs. Mercer and talked to her about the problem she had with Ethan and she gave Emma a really good advice. On the next chapter, Madeline drives Emma to the police station so Emma can get back her car and when Emma finally gets her car back she noticed a paper that said Dr. Sheldon Rose. Emma searched for Dr. Sheldon Rose and she found out he was a psychiatrist that was specialized in extreme mental dissorders. Emma called the hospital were he worked on and she found out Thayer was there and he came out on September and he had been in and out his treatment and left against doctor's orders. The next day, Emma had a class with Ethan but they skipped class to talk and now they made up and they are planning a prank to Sutton's friends and Sutton and Ethan are going to the secret party Emma and Sutton's friends were planning together.

Important quotes....

"That's the first time you've ever thanked me for giving you advice." (214)  This quote really made me reflect what kind of relationship Sutton had with her parents. I really thought how Emma and Sutton where really different on some kind of stuff. "The blood is a perfect match for Thayer Vega."(207) This part of the book is were I really really got shocked. I always thought that the blood was going to be obviously Sutton's but when I read that i really wanted to know how that was possible

Final thoughts....

  I am really really close to see who Sutton's real killer is, and I am so excited! I think Sutton's killer is not going to be Thayer and that the book will really surprise me. Although I think maybe Thayer will be like an accomplice but maybe he is going to take it out of hands because of his mental disorder.

Summary of this week's chapters....

On this week's first chapter Emma tries to solve things with Laurel but Laurel tells Emma that if she wants thinks to be okay she has to get Thayer out of Jail and if she does that Laurel will stop the prank to Ethan. Later Emma shows Ethan the letters that Sutton wrote to Thayer when they were in love so they think Thayer killed Sutton because of Sutton's attitude and feelings towards Thayer. In the next chapter, when Emma gets ready for school, she searches a shoe box Sutton had and she finds a key but she doesn't know what the key is for. Then, Emma's friends start to notice Emma is not like before and they end up being mad at her. On the next day Emma went to eat pretzels with her friends and Madeline fixed things with Emma and she announced that they are going to have a party so they went shopping for the party and as they shopped, Laurel said that Emma should go to Ethan's house to steal the poem and Emma felt really bad because the day before Ethan and Emma said that there were going to be no more secrets between them. The next day, Laurel told Emma that the page were they were going to publish Ethan's poems was already built and that they already had an editor. On that night, Emma searched Sutton's locker and opened it with the key she found on the shoe box and found two letters one from Charlotte (one of Emma's friends) apologizing for being harsh on her and saying "she already knows" but she doesn't know who "she" is and what she knows. The other letter was from Thayer apologizing for something but Emma didn't know what it was. Finally, Emma decided to visit Thayer to jail and there Emma asked Thayer what happened the night Sutton died and Thayer said something about messages he sent to Sutton then Thayer told Emma that he was going to go out of jail the next week and that he was excited to get to talk to her face to face again and then the guards told Emma visiting hours were over so she had to leave.

Important quotes....

"You're getting out next week? Emma repeated, beginning to tremble."(194) This quote really made me think of what is going to happen next. I could just imagine how scared and insecure Emma will be in this days and even more the day Thayer will get out. "Earth to Sutton! Polished fingernails snapped in front of Emma's face." (159) I made a connection to this quote with me. I am very distracted in class and I also think about other things like Emma.

Final thoughts....

So far, I think this chapters have been the most exciting ones. I really want to know what is going to happen when Thayer gets out of Jail. I have been really wondering if Laurel will stop the prank to Ethan since Thayer is going out of Jail. I also think something really important is going to happen at the party. Maybe Thayer will be there to tell something to Emma or Laurel or somebody else.

She Finally Knows It

Summary of this week's chapter....

In this week's chapters a lot of things happened. In the first chapter, Sutton remembers all that happened the night she gets killed. So what happened was that since Sutton had a secret relation with Thayer they went to Sabino Canyon. When they arrived they talked things about how much they loved and missed each other and then they got into a fight about telling people about their relation so Thayer gets really mad and leaves. Sutton gets really scared and wants to leave when someone grabs her and then her memory fades! In the next chapter Emma tells Ethan to pick her up from the police station where they interrogate Emma and Emma wants to talk with Thayer to know if he has any connection with Sutton but Ethan doesn't want Emma to talk to Thayer. Later, Sutton gets home and she calls Greyhound buses to see when Thayer came back to Tucson (where they lived). The girl on the phone tells Emma that Thayer arrived to Tucson the same night Sutton was murdered! The next day Emma goes to class and she noticed everyone was talking about Thayer then she sees Laurel (her sister) and Madeline (Sutton's friend and Thayer's sister) with a petition to free Thayer from jail and shirts that said "Free Thayer". Laurel felt something for Thayer, that was the reason why she was mad at Emma because she sent Thayer to jail. To make Emma feel bad, Laurel was planning to do a prank on Ethan since she knew Emma had something with Ethan. Since nobody from Emma's friends knew about Ethan and her she couldn't refuse to do that prank so Emma had to agree to do the prank. Mrs. Mercer (Sutton's adoptive mother and Laurel's mother) planned a dinner outside because she knew Laurel was pissed off at Emma so she did the dinner to make Emma and Laurel solve things. Laurel went out of her room so Emma got into her room to see if there was any clue of Sutton's murder so she went to the calendar and she saw that in the back side of the August page, in the box of the thirty first there were the initials TV so she started to wonder if it was Thayer Vega until Laurel spot Emma on her room and she invented an excuse. Then, they arrived at the restaurant and there it was Garret (Sutton's ex) that saw Emma get out of the police station and he mention that in front of the whole family and they had no idea Sutton was there so Emma invented it was something of the shoplifting she did the other day. In the last chapter, Emma and her friends go to Madeline's house to plan the prank. When she arrived they were planning what to do and then Laurel, trying to make Emma feel bad again, said that the prank they should make should be to tell a fake author that Ethan stole his poems and that he was going to use them on the poetry slam that he was going to participate and that supposedly only Emma knew but Emma told that to Laurel and with all the shame Emma wanted to go to the bathroom and she saw Thayer's room so she got in to see if there was any clue and she found the notes Sutton and Thayer wrote to each other and then Madeline's father got in and Emma had to invent that she was looking for the bathroom so she got back to Madeline's room. 

Important quotes....

"I love Garrett in a way. He's a good boyfriend." (73) This quote really made me thought about if Garrett ever knew if Sutton had any connection to Thayer or maybe suspected anything about them because the book never says anything about Sutton and Garrett's breakup. "I wonder how many other times my parents had tried whatever means necessary to force Laurel and me to be friends."(111) This also makes me wonder how was Sutton's and Laurel's relation. Like maybe when they were little they really loved each other and then something happened and now they don't like each other or it was just for what happened with Thayer or maybe something else. 

Final thoughts...

The book has a lot of clues right now. I learned about a lot of characters right now and how everyone is at least a little important for Emma. I think maybe Laurel will forgive Emma and she will help Emma with clues. I also think Ethan is going to be really pissed off at Emma for not telling him about the prank. I think the TV on Laurel's calendar is going to be really important and I hope I can find out about it on this week's chapters.

Cause Two Can Keep A Secret If One Of Them Is Dead

Summary of this weeeks chapter...

My story is very interesting and suspensive so far. My story is about two twins called Emma and Sutton that live with different families, Sutton's family is rich and Emma's is poor. Sutton gets muredered but she doesn't know how or why she died and who muredered her. Now, Emma has to replace Sutton and has to live like her and pretend Sutton didn't die. Now, Emma's job is to try to find out who killed Sutton before the killer kills Emma but she doesn't know anything about Suttons live. Her main suspect is Thayer Vega, who disappears a summer, and seems like he has connection with Sutton before she dies. Thayer also threatens Emma at the beggining of the book but now he is in jail for supposedly breaking to Sutton's house. One important character is Ethan who knows the whole truth about Emma and Sutton because Emma and Ethan are in love with each other since the night that they kissed wich is also the same night Thayer threat Emma. Also, Ethan helps Emma to figure out who killed Sutton. 

Important quotes...

''Long before she´d received an anonymous note saying that Sutton was dead and that Emma had to take her place, and tell no one... or else.''(7) When I read this quote I was really starting to get hooked to the book by the suspense the author gives. It makes you want to know what is going to happen next and you kind of see Emma's point of view. "Emma had scrambled to figure everything out about Sutton on the spot- who her friends were, who her enemies were, what she liked to wear, what she liked to do, who she was dating,"(7) This quote also makes you reflect how hard Emma's job is. I think this part is where the author is trying to say here is Emma is going to be brave and start a whole new life which is not going to be easy.

Final thoughts....

I am very into the book right now by all I have read. It's very interesting and the author makes the book a book that you want to continue reading. In my opinion I think Thayer is not going to be the killer but he is going to give clues to the real suspect. I think a lot of Suttons secret is going to come up on the next chapters that are also going to help Emma. I am very excited to continue to read the book and know more about Emma, Sutton, Thayer, Suttons killer and maybe other characters that might come out through the book.
