Summary of this week´s chapters

Mia has memories of her life while she is in comma. The first memory she had was when Mia and Adam went trick or treating and then to a concert of Adam´s band (Shooting Star). They disguised themselves like this: Adam as a classical musician who Mia loved and Mia as a rock musician that Adam loved. At first, Mia thought she didn´t fit in Adam´s world but they talked and she knew she did. Meanwhile on the hospital, Mia saw Adam and Kim trying to go and see her but the nurses said only family could visit her and Adam made a whole chaos and Kim tried to calm him. While she saw that she remembered that at first, Mia dind´t told Kim about Adam and when she decide to tell her she already knew. Mia wanted so bad for Kim and Adam to get together but they were really different. Adam thinks of a way to see Mia on the hospital as a janitor but he fails but he will not give up and still keep trying. Mia remembers her experience in her camp of cello and she remembers how much she loves the cello and she can´t believe that she almost left it! Adam attempts to see Mia again with a distraction but he fails again until he mets with a doctor who was friend of Mia´s parents and she gets Adam to see Mia again and then Mia realizes his brother is gone. She remembers the time when Mia´s mother was giving birth to her brother (Teddy).

"It´s like in tennis. If you play someone crappy, you end up missing shots or serving all sloppy, but if you play with an ace player, suddenly you´re all at the net, lobbing good volleys." (Forman 113).

This quote I think is a message the author wants to give to the reader. I think that it means like when you want to improve you should make the best to improve. I think is like to challenge yourself with the best. To learn how to be the best you have to train with the best.

"'Adam, you better just go for it,'" Liz yells. 'Now or never'" (Forman 121).

This is also a lesson from the author to the reader. I think it means to not waste your time and do things. To not wait for the perfect time. To just go or do it because you maybe will not have the chance to do it again. Now or never!

Final thoughts

I can believe it finally happen!.... Adam got to see Mia that is so nice. What I really love about reading this is that I get to see all the love and support Mia gets. I just keep thinking how hard it is for Mia. I think she is a really strong person and now she lost Teddy... that is so sad. Well, I hope Mia's situation will be better on the next chapters.

Everyone Wants Someone Like Adam

Summary of this week´s chapters

In this week´s chapters Mia gets out of surgery in a comma status. While she is in comma she rembers important things like when she first meet her best friend. She also remembers things like the first time she meet Adam. In this chapters we get to see how romantic Adam is. He knows that Mia lovs classic music so he invites her on their fist date to a classic music concert. Also she remembers the time when they went together for treack and treating with Mia´s little brother (Teddy) and thn went to Adam´s band concert and thats when Mia discovered that feeling that Adam makes her feel so special. He is also very concerned about Mia but he doesn´t know he is on the hospital yet. The people who are on the hospital are Mia´s uncles , ants and grandparents and also Kim who is her best friend. She also remembers good memories with her grandparents.

"Please don´t die"(Forman 57).

Although thisis such a simple quote it shows a lot of love. This quote is being said by Kim and obviously she loves Mia a lot! It shows how much she cares for her since even if Mia is not listening she is telling her to not give up and to PLEASE not die. 

"Adam said that he didn[t mind worrying about me" (Forman 48).

I think this quote is very quote and shows a lot about Adams personality. Is so romantic since it says that he cares for Mia and that is very cute. It also shows how omantic and loving Adam is specially with Mia.

Final thoughts

I have totally fallen in love with this book so far. I love so much each character specially Adam, he is sooo romantic I love that! I love so much this story since its a very unic story that I have read. I want to see what happens to Mia on the hospital. I predict she is going to wake up and go to see Adam or maybe Adam is going to be with Mia when she wakes up.

What Happens at a Car Crash?

Summary of this week´s chapters

A new book came again! This book is If I stay. It´s about this girl called Mia that loves to play chello and has a boyfriend called Adam who is a rock band player. Mia´s family is into music a lot and more rock and roll. One day it was snowing so Mia´s family decide to go visit their relatives. In one of those turns a truck comes and they crash. Mia somehow is alive and sees all of their family very hurt. She later sees herself bleeding on the snow. She later realizes she didn´t quite survive the crash, she is an a sort of coma where she can see everything outside but nobody can see her. Then Mia and her family are taken to the hospital. While Mia is taken o the surgery with small posibilities to survive, she finds out her parents are dead. This was my reaction when I knew she kind of survived the crash:

"I need to find Teddy! Where is he?" (Forman 14).

Here Mia relates looking for Teddy after the crash to when he lost him on the mall. I like when a conection like this happens because I get to understand it better. Obviuosly loosing you brother after a crash is way much desesperate and worst but I can understand better.

"Am I dead? I actually have to ask myself this" (Froman 16).

This was a really shocking fact since you normally think that after a crash like Mia´s that was very fatal you might be dead. It is also very shocking because not knowing you are dead is really weird. I also was thinking that Mia must be so shocked and confused right now.

Final thoughts

I really like this book so far. I most of all like a lot Mia´s character, I think she is a very beautifull girl. I like a lot the problem which I think is that she is in a sort of coma. I think this topic is really interesting. I hope the book continues to be as great as it is so far.

Time to Say Good Bye to This Amazing Book

Summary of this week´s chapters

We got to the end of the book! I can´t believe it. On this last chapters I learned about finding your inner strength.The first story was about a girl who got to be lonely and that was awfull. Her friends started to talk bad about her behind her back and then her boyfriend dropped her and later he was with one of her friends. She didn´t understand what she had done but later she understood that she was better alone. The other story was about a girl who was from Africa and all the other girls bothered her becuase she was like pretending to be an american girl. She later started to realize what true happiness is and she discovered her true happiness when she found god. This stories were the last stories that showed me a message.

This is a really good quote because it can help teenage girls that feel very bad. This quote might get them strenght to get up again and be better. It is true because we are stronger than we think and we are capable of lots of things we think we can't.

"I've found happiness is not something that is easily gained" (Simmons 194).

I agree with this quote because through my life I have known that happiness is not easy. Sometimes you believe you are happy when you really aren't. I also think that to achieve happiness you have to get help from someone so it is not so difficult. For example, I would find happiness with some of my friends and they also make me really happy so I think that if it wasa like that, happiness would not be so difficult to find.

Final Thoughts

This book was really awesome! I learned a lot of things about teenage lifes like advices, their feelings, why thei react the way they react etc. This was a very good author I think she knew exactly what she was talking about. She really gave me lots of good advices and i[m happy I read this book. I really liked the fact that I didn't felt this book was a book that I had to read because I had to, I really enjoyed reading this book and each week I was super excited to keep reading it!

Getting More Deep Thoughts

Summary of this week's chapters

On this week's reading I learned and read about when girls want to fit into society (the popular group). The first story was about a girl that didn't fit on her school cliques. She was once invited to a dance and she thought this was very rare. When she entered the party, a girl started to insult her and she felt so bad she started crying and called her mom to pick her up. The next day a girl told her to like kill herself, at the beginning she thought she was kidding so she laughed but then she realized she was not kidding and she burst in tears. She later started to feel really insecure about herself making her get really sick. At the end, she did found true friends and now she is good and is so grateful for her friends. The other story was about an Asian girl. She first got really hated for a girl called Karen but then she solved things with Karen. Later she found a group of friends she spent over summer and they really liked her until they got to class again and ignored her and threw her out of her group. She considered again suicide until she also made the bully feel bad and then she realized that it was not ok. She then changed from school and was happy again.
Hypocrite people just make me feel like....

Important quotes

"And I will never try to become another person again" (Simmons 175).

This quote is important because it shows a super important message. It teaches us that after a big struggle like the ones these girls are going through, they learned that they should always be their selves. But this shouldn't be just applied after something like this. This should be a lesson you should always apply and this is a message a lot of teenage girls need. 

"I am awed by their courageous self-respect in the face of seemingly endless sorrow" (Simmons 160).

I really like a lot how this author talks about this girls. The author acknowledges her courageous and I really like that. I think it doesn't only makes the author of the stories feel good, but it also makes the one reading feel good. 

Final Thoughts

I think these chapters were the chapters more intense from the book. In this section you could really get to see things like suicide and that is not a very slight thing. This section of the book also was the one that made me think the most about bullying. I also think we got deeper in the feelings of these authors. There is only one section more left on the book, I hope is really great!

Wow! How Can People Survive This

Summary of this week's chapters

These chapters were about how girls survive over bullying and all that stuff. A story was about a girl that gets excluded from her group and her friends like pretend like if she didn't exist like they supposedly wrote all the group names except for hers. Other story was about this girl that felt insecure about herself and started to pick on a girl called Jodie and she started bullying her by telling her mean things and making her feel bad just because she was insecure about herself. Another story was about this girl who had a best friend but her best friend left the country and they made official groups of girls, she joined the popular girls and years later her friend came back but she realized her friend did not wanted to be with her because everyone thought she was annoying and it was like a bad reputation. With this and more stories I learned and made connections to stories about teenage girl life.

When I was reading this book I started to think a lot about this quote. I think this type of witting the author uses is very good since it gives example and it starts to see the world like we see. I really like how the author understands how girls feel. I also think is very good how the author knows how to write a book to a specific audience.

"Hurt me once, shame on you; hurt me twice, shame on me"(Simmons 138).

This quote sounds very deep. It is a quote that was being said by the mom of this girl. I think this quote is truth because when you let a person hurt you twice is really dumb. 

Final Thoughts

I really like this book I make so many connections and in a way I can see solution o my problems and future problems. I like how the author is super good explaining the chapter and showing you. It makes me really see the person's point of view and in a way feel what they feel. One thing I also want to mention because I think is super important is how the author writes for a specific audience. I really like this because you get to think a lot deeper and make more connections.

Unbelievable but Brave Stories

Summary of this weeks' chapters

On this week´s reading I read new stories and learned new lessons. This weeks' chapters were about when friends turn on you. The first story I read was about this girl that was dropped by their friends all of the sudden. This happened over the summer so when she came to her first day of school everyone bothered her of a mistake she made with boys over the summer. She got bullied and got depression but she told her parents and the social worker of her school and she went to do homeschooling and felt good. Another story I read was about this girl who also lost her friends all of the sudden because she always made her best to make her friends feel good. She was diagnosed for depression and started to lose weight. She was so bad she couldn´t even swim one lap in a pool. She started to see a therapist and she changed from school and then she started to gain weight again and feel good again. Through this and more stories I learned about experiences of friends turning over you and how it feels. I also learned how much damage this can make.

"Trust is something you build gradually with another person" (Simmons 106).

I think this quote is very beautiful and true. I think this is something that comes with time and time is something super important when you face this things. I will share this quote with my friends. I think this is something we should know because is one message of the book that will help you on your life.
"Maybe someday I'll find a girl who I can trust, but I found out that girls at this age are mean, malicious, and liars" (Simmons 98).
I somehow think the same way as the author but I also kind of disagree. I think the same way because there are mean girls that are a lot like that characteristics but there are girls are not. I think this girl can find someone that will make her feel good again. I think girls are very negative and think they will be sad forever and I think the author wants to show us this.

Final thoughts

I am really hooked to this book since I can relate and make connections a lot. I get to see a lot about girl feelings and that also teaches me how to treat girls that have gone through this. This book also shows me how to act if something like this happens to me. I really like this author and her way of writing books.
